Down the Shattered Peaks

Team size: 15 people

Duration: 3 weeks

Role: Sound designer, level designer

Engine: Unity

Down the Shattered Peaks was the first game that I worked on and it also happened to be the first game project we had in school.

My role in this project was level designer and sound designer. I started by sketching the levels I had in mind on a piece of paper and in Paint on my computer. From there me and the rest of the team (mainly the designers) decided together what worked and what didn't.

Our P.O appointed me as the sound designer on this project and I am grateful that he did! I learned a lot from listening on different sounds trying to find the right sounds for our project. I am very satisfied with the result!

Down the Shattered Peaks is a fun, heart-pounding adventure game for PC with only one goal; to get to the bottom of the mountain before the avalanche catches up to you!

The Book Keeper

Team size: 13 people

Duration: 7 weeks

Role: Level designer

Engine: Unreal Engine 5.3

For this project we created a game from the theme "Once upon a time". But instead of a prince coming to rescue the princess, the princess rescues herself from the tower.

I am very satisfied with the end result. Of course there were things we didn't have time to implement, that's a tale as old as time, but through sickness and health we created a fun and interesting game.

My role in this project was Level Designer and I also did the post processing. I tried to create an eerie yet warm ambiance in the castle. With more time we would've made more modules for the rooms and the cracked walls to give the player a more visual ambiance.
What I would have done differently is sticking to an idea I believed in and fight for it.

All and all this was the best team I have ever worked with. Everyone talked to everyone and made sure we all were onboard and if someone was sick or away the team tried their best to make sure we got things done on time.

The Book Keeper is a story of a princess locked away in a tower with only her storybook as company. One day the characters from her book comes to life and escapes the tower! It is up to the princess to catch the characters and utilize their powers to escape the tower.

Drain Dash

Team size: 17 people

Duration: 4 weeks

Role: Level designer, Scrum

Engine: Unity

During this project I was mainly level designer. We had some setbacks regarding our Scrum master, so eventually I took on the role as Scrum.

This project was anything but easy. No one in our team, or any other team for that matter, had ever created a mobile co-op game before. But with every challenge and set back there are lessons! We struggled a lot to get everything to work and in the end we had a fun and interesting mobile game.

Drain Dash is a multiplayer mobile game where you and your friend need to work together to clear each level. Customize your kayak, your raincoats, don't stare too much at the ducks and master the grappling hook in this cooperative experience!

The Druid

Team size: 8 people

Duration: 4 weeks

Role: Level designer

Engine: Unreal Engine

For this project the team consisted of four programmers and four designers. My focus was on level design.

I iterated the level a few times before I settled on a design. I got to try new things I hadn't worked on before, like Niagara systems for the waterfall, different approaches for materials, the landscape mode and the foliage mode.

Our team worked well together and we are satisfied with the result. The only thing we were missing was the UI. Unfortunately the one responsible for that couldn't finish it. Of course we wish that we had more time to fine-tune the abilities, create more levels and polish the narrative, but for four weeks I am happy with the result!

The Druid is an action adventure game where you play as a druid defending their forest. Use your mystical powers and help the animals. And together, your new animal companions will aid you in stopping the humans threatening the forest. But will you chase them away through sheer irritation, or protect your forest with the violent powers of the wilderness?
